So here we have the interior of my family’s 2008 Odyssey. Its taken quite a beating in the 7 years it’s been with us. It’s about time to clean it up and sell it on. We are going to clean the carpet like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but my dad and I are unsure of what to use for the rest. Does oppo have any product recommendations for a) stuff to clean all of the plastic and b) leather cleaner? Thanks!

Check out AMMO NYC on Youtube. I’ve been subscribing to him and actually taking his advice for months and they are really effective and efficient. BTW AMMO NYC is an auto detailer, but he also has videos ranging from cleaning the carpet to taking care of vinyl/leather.

Start with a mild water, then slowly move to a more concentrated water. Wipe with paper towels in a cross hatch pattern, and allow remaining water to dry by gently applying a mixture of 78% nitrogren / 21% oxygen gas. You should be able to purchase these products through your local car dealer.

For interior plastics most household all purpose cleaners will do the job and use a good interior dressing such as Gtechniq C6 it dresses, restores to original non glossy look and provides UV protection.

For leather cleaning I use Sonus Leather Cleaner, it gets right into the pores. Now leather conditioners aren’t really necessary with modern automotive leathers but you can use one for peace of mind and to give a nice sheen back to the leather.

The Sonus products invariably come as a pack with a trifoam pad to work in the product but also use a brush in small circular motions to agitate and foam up the product.

I’ve had really good luck with griot’s interior cleaner.

There aren’t really that many bad products out there when it comes to cleaning the interior of cars. Just go to some random auto parts store and buy what you see fit pretty much.

As far as the carpet goes, a steam cleaner really should do the trick just fine. You probably won’t damage anything unless you use it completely wrong. Another option would just be to send it off to a professional detailer, but that fun is that?

Works for me. Just be sure to use a conditioner afterwards if you use it on leather.

so far no ill effects from denatured alcohol for the embedded cupnasty cubby. Honda makes durable beige. some stuff will need a plastic prise to get apart if you really want to clean/ discover what happened to lunch in 2013. miles of beige.

*my initial impression that Honda engineers wanted to give everybody the Monorail experience.

I use this a fair amount but it can discolor a number of plastics. Took the paint right off the switches of the corvette I was detailing. Always test an inconspicuous area!

I also like Turtle Wax’s Carpet Cleaner, and, surprisingly, the newest Armor All interior cleaning wipes (the old ones dried out and left streaks, but a customer gifted me a new canister and they work quite well, and 4 sheets can clean most four-door vehicles).

Great question! We have aon ‘05 Ody with a tan leather interior that is definitely showing stains and overall discoloration. If there is any way to remedy this, I would be most interested in finding out.
